## Export formats at a glance

## Which tools offer which formats

Not every tool offers every format. Each tool's own docs are authoritative for its export
panel, but as a starting point:

- **Plant Room Studio** exports PNG, JPG, JSON, DXF, and IFC, and imports DXF and IFC.
- **Ceiling Coordination Studio** exports PNG and JSON.
- The three calculator tools (Voltage Drop & Cable Size Checker, Duct Pressure Drop Calculator,
Water Pipe Pressure Drop & Pump Head Calculator) each produce a PDF report.

See the [tools catalog](/tools) for the full list of tools and their plans.

## DXF and IFC are Pro and Plant Room Studio only

This is the most misunderstood part of exporting, so to be plain about it: **DXF and IFC export
are only available on the Pro plan, and only from Plant Room Studio.** No other tool produces
these formats.

## Where each export runs

- **PDF, DXF, and IFC are generated on the server.** You need to be signed in and online to
produce them. Server-side exports are unlimited on Pro.
- **PNG, JPG, SVG, JSON, CSV, and XLSX are produced in your browser.** They don't require a
  server round-trip.

## The watermark

Guests and Free-plan users get a tiled, diagonal **"DRAFT"** watermark at low opacity on
**PNG, JPG, SVG, and PDF** exports. This watermarking happens in your browser, not on the
server. Upgrading to Pro removes it.

**JSON, CSV, and XLSX are never watermarked** — there's no visual surface to stamp a
watermark onto.

**SVG is watermarked, unlike the other browser-side formats.** It's a vector image, so a
guest or Free-plan SVG export carries the same DRAFT watermark as PNG and JPG. Upgrading to
Pro removes it.

We don't claim the watermark is tamper-proof or that it can't be bypassed. It's a visible
marker that an export is a draft, not a security control.

## A note on submittals

Watermarked draft exports are not intended for submittals. And regardless of plan — watermarked
or not — the exporting engineer remains responsible for checking the output before it's used.
See the [Engineering disclaimer](/engineering-disclaimer).

## Exporting unsaved work

Exports don't require the document to be saved to your account — they run from whatever is on
screen. But an export is a snapshot, not a save: if the work matters, get it into your account
too. See [Save status & unsaved work](/docs/save-status).

The calculators also offer **Copy share link** in their action rail, which puts the current
inputs into a URL you can paste to a colleague — no plan or account needed on either side.

## Upgrading
