# Refunds & cancellation

## Cancelling your subscription

Cancel any time from [/billing](/billing). Cancellation is self-service — no need to contact support unless your plan was granted by an administrator, in which case /billing shows a contact-support message instead.

- Cancelling takes effect at the **end of your current billing period**. You keep Pro access until then.
- There is **no refund for the unused portion** of the period you already paid for.
- Changed your mind? Resume the subscription from /billing any time before the period ends.
- Cancelling only stops future renewals — it does not undo the charge that already covers your current period.

See [Plans & payments](/docs/plans-payments) for how billing periods, the billing portal, and failed payments work.

## Try before you pay

The 7-day free trial is the intended way to evaluate MEP Tools before you're charged. It requires a card up front and applies to the paid tier you select at checkout. Cancelling stops the subscription from renewing — so cancelling during the trial, before it converts to a paid period, is how you avoid being charged.

## Refunds

Subscription fees are **non-refundable**, including for partial or unused periods, except where a refund is required by applicable law or granted at our discretion.

- There is **no automatic refund window**.
- There is **no in-app refund button**.
- To request a refund, email **Support@MEPTools.com**. Requests are reviewed and handled manually — requesting one does not guarantee it will be granted.
- If a refund is granted, the associated subscription ends and the account returns to the Free plan.

Before you email support, check your payment history on [/billing](/billing) — it links each charge to a hosted invoice. Include the email address on your account and the approximate date and amount of the charge in your message so support can find it quickly.

## Public beta

While the app shows the public-beta notice with paid plans open, that notice states: cancel anytime, and email support during the beta for a full refund, no questions asked. That promise stands for as long as the notice is shown; the policy above is what applies otherwise.

## Purchases billed by an app store

If a purchase was billed through an app store rather than directly by MEP Tools, that store processes the payment and handles cancellations and refunds for it — not MEP Tools.

## Your data

Cancelling a subscription does **not** delete your projects — they stay in your account (locked if you're over the Free plan's project limit; see [Projects](/docs/projects)). Deleting your account is the only way to remove your data, and that's a separate, permanent action covered in [Account](/docs/account).

## The binding policy

This page is a plain-language summary written to be easy to scan. The [Refund Policy](/refund-policy) is the authoritative document — read it if you need the exact legal wording, and it governs if the two ever disagree.
